SINGAPORE, Aug. 14, 2015 — Zecotek Display Systems Pte. Ltd. has licensed its 3D autostereoscopic display technology for manufacturing in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The Engineering Centre of the Russian National Research Nuclear Center (ECM) and business affiliate Novilab Mobile LLC will develop and sell a final product to specialized, high-end markets in the region.
Zecotek's patented, glasses-free 3D display system is based on the autostereoscopic principle and can simultaneously present 3D and 2D images on the same screen through different viewing angles. The system has an effective viewing angle of 40° with 90 concurrent perspectives.
"The demand in Russia for such leading-edge technology is substantial," said Andrey Starikovskiy, head of Novilab. "We have identified specialized applications and customers for [the] new high-speed, full high-definition, multiple-view capabilities offered by the Zecotek 3D display. Our plan is to market the initial designs to these high-end markets, wher we will focus for the first three years of production. In parallel, we will work with our partners at Zecotek and ECM to complete the flat screen option for the larger consumer electronics end users in Russia and CIS countries."
Zecotek Systems is a subsidiary of Zecotek Photonics Inc. of Canada. ECM is a part of the National Nuclear Research University of Russia.
