Chromacity provides cutting edge lasers that enable the scientific community and industrial partners to discover more and push new boundaries. With laser products spanning both the infrared and visible spectrums, the company also specializes in developing custom laser technologies for specific end-user applications. Applications for Chromacity’s lasers range from microscopy and spectroscopy, to stand-off detection, quantum technologies and hydrocarbon analysis.

Ultrafast lasers

Chromacity has developed a family of air-cooled ultrafast ytterbium fibre-based lasers that combine high power with very short pulsewidths at low cost. These laser sources are more compact, easier to use and provide better reliability than legacy laser technologies, and support a wide range of multi-photon imaging, SHG/THG imaging and quantum optics applications.

As scientists increasingly adopt single wavelength approaches when conductingexperiments, Chromacity’s fixed wavelength products provide a less complex alternative to tunable systems. Chromacity’s lasers also offer different pulse durations to compensate against dispersion. With a compact footprint, robust and stable design the Chromacity

Key products include:

The Chromacity 1040 fixed wavelength laser source delivers femtosecond pulses with high average powers in the near-IR (1040 nm). The fibre-based source exploits the well-known advantages of Yb-doped fibres as gain media while delivering high quality ultrashort pulses.

The Chromacity 1040 is available in two versions, delivering either 500 mW or up to 2.5 W, with picosecond or femtosecond pulse widths.

The Chromacity 520 is the latest laser source in the company’s product line, producing high power green light. It efficiently generates second-harmonic light at 520 nm with sub-150-fs pulse durations. The Chromacity 520 is available in two versions:

? An integrated option, with the SHG crystal incorporated within the laser head. This compact offering produces more than 500 mW of average power.

? A separate SHG module that can be used in conjunction with a standalone Chromacity 1040 laser. This offering produces more than 1.2 W of average power.

OPO systems The Chromacity 350 is also readily available. With a separate third harmonic module (THG), And delivering output power > 200 mW and a pulse duration < 150 fs, with applications in quantum optics, Non-linear optics and generating entangled photons. The strong performance characteristics of the Chromacity 1040 as the pump source ensures delivery of high-quality short pulses in the visible.

Chromacity is also the first company to offer tunable Optical Parametric Oscillator products that cover both the near- and mid-IR wavelength regions. With broad wavelength coverage, high beam quality and high spatial coherence, both of these systems open up a wide range of spectroscopic and non-linear experiments.

Chromacity’s OPOs are currently available in two versions:

? A near-IR OPO that generates light across the 1.4 μm – 4 μm region (7100 cm -1 – 2500 cm -1 ). Wavelength selection is achieved by translation of a PPLN crystal with varying grating periodicity.

? A mid-IR OPO that makes use of a new generation of non-linear crystals which allows the generation of light across the 5 μm – 12 μm region (2000 cm -1 – 1000cm -1 ).

For spectroscopy applications, the ability to generate a high quality beam at these longer infrared wavelengths is key to detecting a wide range of solids, liquids and gases.

Generating instantaneous broadband light in the 3 – 4 μm wavelength region enablesidentification and quantification of a large number of hydrocarbons, using techniques such as FTIR spectroscopy. The same is also true across the 5 – 12 μm fingerprint region where more complex chemical signatures can be readily identified.

Chromacity in China

Chromacity’s products are already helping expand the capabilities of applications in both research and industrial environments across the world. The company has built some of the most innovative laser sources in the market and is helping to advance applications in areas such as fundamental research, quantum technologies and environmental sensing.

In China, Chromacity is represented by Beijing Bright Wise Spectroscopy Tech Co., Ltd.

With a wealth of expertise in OPO, non-linear optics and optical fibre delivery, Chromacity is able to consider a wide range of options to help its customers in China and industrial partners meet different requirements.
